I’m not keeping up with my intentions at the moment. I really want to share how I’m journaling once a week, but I’m not. And you know what, after thinking about it, I’m okay with that. Autumn is usually my time to slow down, and I want to embrace this slower side of me because it is okay not to rush and achieve everything. So I’ll accept that I may only share once a fortnight or once a month.
How do you look after yourself in your slower seasons?

Two things I notice after writing this list, is I my season of slowing down is visible in my journal writing as much as other areas of my life. And if I want to justify keeping my sticker subscription I really need to do more decorated pages otherwise I’m going to run out of places to store them.
Blog Posts
I’ve published two posts about journal prompts, both of which I’ve used in the above writing. They are based on the book Soundtracks by Jon Acuff (my review), and I use them together. Firstly I use one to examine if I’ve got a limiting belief or upper limit problem, and if the answer is yes I use the second one to look into the belief and my thoughts around it.
The limiting belief I looked into during the last few weeks is going to bed earlier. I do have a limiting belief as I think of myself as a night owl. So each week I’ve been looking into what actions I need to take and new thoughts I need to support them. I’m finding the weekly writing on the topic very useful at keeping me focused, and I’ve had some success, but also a few slips, so I’ll keep using the changing thoughts one for a while.
I’m still being quiet on Instagram. Something else that I’m happy to loosen my hold on in my quiet season. However, I did a share a reel of my opening an old box I found in our garage to discover what was inside. As soon as I opened the box and saw the photographs from my teenage years, I remembered I’d used to use the box to store my journals. It has been empty since they outgrew it.
TikTok
I shared a similar video on TikTok except I added a bit at the end showing where my journals are stored now. Although that box doesn’t include my journals from the last 3 years which are stored in a cupboard.
What journaling have you been doing recently?
I love the stickers! Like you, though, I need to use more soon or it won't make sense to keep up with subscriptions. Or maybe we embrace the slowness of the season and pick up later in the spring with more stickers. :)
